Haven

  • She called me, I did not answer
Her words in my mind like a disturbed symphony
Each one stabbed and twisted into place.

The passing was a quick one
    No tears were shed
To forgo a life that was once known, a formidable terminus.

Although a better world had blossomed
My understandings limited to child play and the pitter patter of shoes on the hardwood floor
    Innocence lost.
